The Verandah Companies recently joined the Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership, the region’s premier economic development organization.
Headquartered in Houston, Verandah is an integrated real estate firm specializing in the development, construction and management of residential communities with experience in multi-product communities, upscale single-family subdivisions, luxury townhome and apartment home communities. Founded in 1996, Verandah’s properties are located in Austin and the greater Houston area.
In December 2006, Verandah expanded its presence to League City via the purchase of a 35-acre island near South Shore Harbour. Verandah is in the process of transforming this island, recently named Beacon Island, into an exclusive, gated community with up to 800 luxury, primary residences of varying product types. Offering an unprecedented coastal lifestyle, each home will also feature a distinct architectural design and the best of contemporary amenities.
With this new addition, the value of Verandah’s portfolio exceeds $260 million. Verandah is managed by three principals: Robert Stratton, Nancy Pointer and David Smith. While each heads up one of three divisions, they collaborate with each other on every stage of development -- from product concept to site selection to construction process to marketing/sales.
“With Verandah, you get hands-on attention from a principal at all times,” said Pointer. “Without numerous layers of management, this team approach ensures the best outcomes for our residents, owners, lenders and venture partners. We look forward to demonstrating this approach within Bay Area Houston and becoming an active participant in the community.”
