What is the Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership?
BAHEP is a member-driven organization dedicated to stimulating regional economic development and employment in Southeast Texas. Founded in 1976, BAHEP works with over 300 investor companies, local governments, and educational institutions to attract, retain, and expand industry in the region. Our members include business partners encompassing 18 cities and Galveston and Harris counties.
Key activities of BAHEP include:
- Economic Development: providing confidential assistance to businesses looking to expand or relocate to the region, offering guidance on workforce, site selection, and incentives.
- Regional Champions: championing initiatives for regional economic growth at the local, state, and federal levels, particularly for industries like aerospace, maritime, and specialty chemicals.
- Workforce Development: partnering with local academic institutions to enhance the region's workforce and talent base.
