Delegation travels to Austin to present regional legislative agenda
BAHEP, along with its partners the Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and League City Regional Chamber of Commerce, led a delegation of 91 travelers to Austin, Texas, on March 5, 2019, and held 140 scheduled meetings with state legislators, the lieutenant governor and governor to advocate for Harris County and the surrounding area’s priorities. The meetings were a huge success, especially meetings related to public education and higher education. 
The legislative agenda topics are provided below:
  • Education and Workforce Development
  • Franchise Tax
  • Supporting the Region’s Healthcare System
  • Coastal Spine / Taxing Authority
  • Space Alliance Technology Outreach Program and Texas Aerospace Scholars Program
  • Spaceport Development Corporation and Texas Spaceport Trust Fund

  • Texas Ports / Texas Enterprise Fund
