Economic Outlook 2013

Economic forecasting attempts to predict the future condition of the economy.  This involves the use of statistical models utilizing variables sometimes called indicators.  Some of the most well-known economic indicators include inflation and interest rates, GDP growth/decline, retail sales and unemployment rates.  While economic forecasting is not an exact science, it remains an important decision-making tool for businesses and governments as they formulate financial policy and strategy.

"A Demographic & Economic Overview and Forecast,” was presented during the February 2013 General Membership Meeting of the Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership by Robert F. Hodgin, Ph.D., and Jason Marasko, Ph.D., School of Business, University of Houston – Clear Lake.

"Houston Region Economic Outlook,” was presented in March 2013 to the Houston Region Economic Development Alliance by Patrick Jankowski, vice president, Research, Greater Houston Partnership.
